The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power

The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power teaser is already causing me to lose control of my mind, so please accept my apologies for the person I will become when it is released, which is already killing me within minutes of watching it.

As you can see from the trailer, the upcoming season of television looks absolutely gorgeous (it does help that it is the most expensive season of television ever made). There are hints of lush elven forests, ornate dwarven mines, and peaceful, well-tended lands of the hobbits as we explore these lush and ornate lands. Furthermore, we can also see the island kingdom of Nmenor and the Two Trees of Valinor, both of which are key parts of the Middle-earth mythology of J.R.R. Tolkien.

Unlike The Hobbit and The Lord of the Rings which take place in the Third Age of Middle-earth, the Rings of Power takes place in the Second Age of Middle-earth. Our new cast of characters will include the Harfoot hobbits, the N*menorians, and a host of new ones as well. However, there is a lot of focus on characters we already know. In this case, they’re the elves Galadriel (Morfydd Clark) and Elrond (Robert Aramayo).

Elrond essentially tells Galadriel to chill about the forces of darkness gathering, despite Galdriel’s insistence that they are gathering. According to the orcs seen in the trailer and a dwarf’s ominous declaration that it is the beginning of a new age, Galadriel may have been right after all – based on the orcs and the dwarf’s ominous declaration. As far as the darkness is concerned, there is still a long way to go. Are we going to see this shadow disappear or will it stick around for a while? It will be until September that we will be able to find out what this epic event will entail and bask in all its glory.
