It’s widget time! A new font and colour scheme has been added! A wallpaper with emojis! Apple has finally given the iPhone lock screen the attention it deserves with iOS 16.
It seems that Apple has made a number of changes to the lock screen in recent months, which go beyond the skin deep changes as you can now link your lock screen to different focus modes. You can customize each mode’s settings in the settings menu, which means that what appears on your lock screen for each mode – Do Not Disturb, Driving, Personal, Sleep, and Work – is influenced by the settings you choose.
The current version of iOS 16 already allows you to customize the settings for the different types of focus modes that are available. It will be possible to switch between modes directly from your lock screen and vice versa, thanks to this update. I will show you how to set it up in the following steps.

1. To open screen settings, press and hold the lock screen.
Additionally, here you will be able to create your own wallpaper, add widgets, and customize your theme.

2. Click the Focus icon.
This can be found towards the bottom center of the screen, towards the bottom right corner. If you tap on this icon, you will see a window that will show you all the different modes that you can use for Focus. You can customize your Focus modes, if you haven’t already done so, by scrolling all the way down and tapping the “Focus Settings” button.
